Tuesday September 20, 2011 Today's Verse:

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. - Acts 1:8 (KJV)

I NEVER NEW HOW MUCH SHE LOVED ME

I NEVER NEW HOW MUCH SHE LOVED ME!

As I sat in the kitchen chair by the window, my friend and her daughter walked in the room. As her little face quickly scanned the rest of the individuals in the room, they came to rest upon my face. With her big eyes full of emotion and unasked questions, they never left my face as she slowly walked over to me and gently set a package at my feet. She slowly straightened and put her arms around my neck and held on to me as if she never wanted to let me go, she laid her little head upon my shoulder and her silent tears fell from her face upon my shirt!
Quietly she held me and cried tears of happiness because my test results came back looking good!
I never knew until that very moment how much she loved me, how much fear she was carrying around in her little body, fear that someone whom she loved was sick, someone she loved had cancer. All of the emotions that I was quietly carrying around within myself, I knew she herself was feeling. And, as we held onto each other quietly crying together, it seemed as if our hearts truely did beat as one for a brief moment.
Oh, how precious that moment is to me. It is a moment that I shall carry with me for the rest of my life. The Love of a most precious child!

Study in Joshua

Good Morning Lovely Ladies,
I too was up at 5:00 AM.  It's a beautiful morning which the Lord has blessed up with here in Indiana.  The Sun is shining brightly now, with a very cool, brisk, breeze off of Lake Michigan.  I LOVE Autumn! Pumpkins, Apple cider, and all the goodies that go along with this time of the year.

I spent approx. 1 1/2 hours reading and studying the book of Joshua.  We are studying this in our women's bible study at church. I was a little hesitant to do this study, because I thought it would be all about history, which it is, but, it is so much more.

It is about Joshua being a picture or type of Christ in the old testament and how he led the people into the promised land.  However, getting into the promised land was filled will bitterness and hardship, and they had to fight in battle and overcome all kinds of adversity to get into the promised land.  This made me look at our lives today, how, our lives are difficult sometimes, and there are a lot of trials and temptations along the way, but, In the end, we love the Lord, and God is with us just as he was with his people of old, and he never, leaves us or forsakes us.  He continually tells us to be strong and of good courage and we shall overcome, and we too shall in that day of days enter into that promised land of rest in Eternal Glory with our precious Lord and Savior! Oh! What a day that will be!

So, today My new friends, I want to encourage all of us to be "Strong" and of "Good Courage" stand fast in the Lord, trust in him and he will see us through whatever the day holds for us. For, The Lord our God is with us!

Love to you all in Christ,
Martie.

Thursday September 15, 2011 Today's Verse:

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. - Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

Today is the first day of Woman's Bible Study.

Today is the first day that our woman's Bible Study starts at our church.  It is going to be a study on the book of Joshua.
History? Hmmmm.  However, during my daily devotions in the study of the book of Joshua I am surprised at how interesting I am finding this to be.  I'll keep you posted!
